The URF was investigated through sedimentological and tectonic aspects. The URF deposits in the Avaj area were divided into two members (M1 and M2). Based on sedimentological investigations (mineralogy, lithology and sedimentary structures), the URF two members are different in lithology (e.g., quartz, feldspars, volcanic rock fragments and carbonate cementation differences in sandstones and clay mineral composition difference in mudrocks). The paleocurrent direction changed from SE to NW in the lower member to NNW to SSE in the upper member. Field observations revealed an unconformity between these two members. The Shurab salt dome deformed the lower member but deformation did not reach the upper member. According to the mentioned evidence, two previously known members of the URF (M1 or the Avaj Red Beds and M2 or the Bi-Ab conglomerate) did not belong to the same formation, and the upper member (Bi-Ab conglomerate) should be considered as a new lithostratigraphic unit. Based on tectonic evidence, the late Alpine movements (<20 Ma.) triggered the inversion of Avaj Fault and deposition of the URF. The Atikan orogeny (5 Ma.) caused the deformation of the URF and the unconformity at the base of the Bi-Ab conglomerate. The Atikan movements also reactivated the Hassan Abad Fault, causing the creation of the Khar Rud shortcut. The uplift of the Khar Rud block provided the Bi-Ab conglomerate sediment supply. The Bi-Ab conglomerate might be deposited during Pliocene and deformed by the Pasadanian movements (2-1.8 Ma.).}, keywords = {Upper Red Formation,Salt Dom,Avaj area,Central Iran,Miocene}, title_fa = {بازنگری سازند قرمز بالایی به سن میوسن در منطقه آوج-آبگرم، غرب ایران}, abstract_fa = {سازند قرمز بالایی به علت گسترش زیاد در منطقه آوج و پیچیدگیهای چینهشناسی و تکتونیکی این منطقه، مورد بازنگری قرار گرفته است. ویژگیهای تکتونیکی و رسوبشناسی این سازند مورد بررسی قرار گرفته است. رسوبات سازند قرمز بالایی در منطقه آوج به دو عضو M1 و M2 تقسیم شده است. بر اساس نتایج به دست آمده از مطالعات رسوبشناسی (کانیشناسی، سنگشناسی و ساختمانهای رسوبی) رسوبات دو عضو یاد شده از نظر سنگشناسی (مقادیر کوارتز، فلدسپات، خردهسنگهای آتشفشانی، میزان گسترش سیمان کربناته و تفاوت در نوع کانیهای رسی گلسنگها) با یکدیگر متفاوت هستند. جهت جریان دیرینه در عضو پایینی از جنوب شرقی به سمت شمال غربی و در عضو بالایی از شمال-شمال غربی به سمت جنوب-جنوب شرقی تغییر میکند. مشاهدات میدانی وجود یک دگرشیبی زاویهدار در مرز بین دو عضو را آشکار کرده است. گنبد نمکی شوراب نیز باعث دگرشکلی در رسوبات عضو پایینی شده است در حالی که این دگرشکلی بر رسوبات عضو بالایی تأثیری نداشته است. بر اساس شواهد یاد شده، دو عضو M1 (لایههای قرمز آوج) و M2 (کـنگلومرای بیآب) متعلق به یک سازند نبوده و عضو بالایی (کنگلومرای بیآب) را باید به عنوان یک واحد سنگچینهشناسی مجزا در نظر گرفت. با توجه به شواهد تکتونیکی، حرکات پایانی کوهزایی آلپی (کمتر از 20 میلیون سال پیش) منجر به عملکرد معکوس در گسل آوج و در نهایت رسوبگذاری سازند قرمز بالایی شده است. کوهزایی آتیکان (آغاز کوهزایی حدود 5 میلیون سال پیش) باعث ایجاد دگرشکلی در رسوبات سازند قرمز بالایی و ایجاد دگرشیبی زاویهدار در قاعده رسوبات کنگلومرای بیآب شده است. کوهزایی آتیکان همچنین منجر به فعالیت مجدد گسل حسنآباد و پیدایش گسل میانبر خررود شده است. بالا آمدن بلوک خررود باعث تأمین رسوبات کنگلومرای بیآب شده است. رسوبات کنگلومرای بیآب احتمالاً در دوره پلیوسن رسوبگذاری و طی حرکات پاسادانین (بین 2 تا 8/1 میلیون سال پیش) دچار دگرشکلی شده است.}, keywords_fa = {سازند قرمز بالایی,گنبد نمکی,ناحیه آوج,ایران مرکزی,میوسن}, url = {https://psj.basu.ac.ir/article_2925.html}, eprint = {https://psj.basu.ac.ir/article_2925_2456a55f4e6ce07c1adf141575cdc50d.pdf} }
