Dariyan Formation (Aptian) with a predominantly limestone lithology has always been important as a reservoir. The thickness of formation varies between 195 to 45 meters in the South Dezful area, and its middle part (Kazhdumi tongue), with layers of dark shale and marls containing planktonic foraminifera, varies between 100 meters and zero from East-West of the studied area. Many studies have been done on Reservoir properties of Dariyan Carbonates in Zagros basin but for the first time Hydrocarbon Source Rock Potential of the Middle part of Dariyan evaluated. The petroleum generating potential of middle Dariyan member was evaluated by different parameters including Tmax, TOC, S1, S2, HI, OI, and PI. According to these parameters, this member is thermally mature and reached to oil window. The Rock-Eval parameters suggest that the middle Dariyan can be considered as a source rock in this area which its potential increases in an East -West trend, and its contribution to the charge of the reservoirs recommended to be noticed.
